33th “Völser Kuchlkastl”

The 33th “Völser Kuchlkastl” is taking place in Völs am Schlern / Fiè allo Sciliar in October 2010. Friends of culinary and traditional specialties must participate on these gastronomic weeks. Original dishes based on old recipes, nearly forgotten, are being cooked.

Restaurant owners of Fiè have been inviting to take part on these weeks since 1978 and surprise every year with new recipes.

The Herbst Castle in Toblach / Dobbiaco

The Herbst Castle in Toblach / Dobbiaco is an important part for the culture and history of the village. 

The two brothers Kaspar and Christoph Herbst acquired and renovated the Herbst Castle in 1500. Not far away, in the north-western part of the village, had already been the Red Tower. The castle was the central part of a fortress stretching to this tower. Both were connected with an underground tunnel.
