The Dolomites, world cultural and natural heritage

A year ago, in June 2009 the Dolomites were added to UNESCO’s list of world cultural and natural heritage sites. With this title it confirms its beauty and invites people to pass some days in this region.

Directly outside the Appartements Haus zur Vogelweide in Dobbiaco / Toblach are many hiking trails, from which you can discover the magnificent Dolomites. In winter or in summer, snowy mountains or steep rugged rocks, the Dolomites are always impressive!

New sportevent in the Dolomites

The Sellaronda Hero Mountainbike Marathon is taking place the first time on Saturday, the 26th June 2010. The athletes are starting in Selva di Gardena and can choose between two routes: the 50 km or 82 km route. The altitude difference is about 2.600 m (50 km) and 4.200 m (82 km). It’s not only a sportive highlight, but also a spectacular: this event offers a wonderful panoramic view to the Dolomites.

Dobbiaco in Alta Pusteria – Holidays for the whole family

Dobbiaco / Toblach in Alta Pusteria is a comune with a population of about 3.200 (2009).  This place and more specifically the “Toblacher Feld” (field of Toblach) is the watershed between the Adriatic and the Black Sea.

The municipality of Dobbiaco contains the fraziones Valle San Silvestro / Wahlen and Santa Maria / Aufkirchen. In these places you can enjoy the next holidays with your family.
